When the BTK case was closed, it was Lt. Ken Landwehr who appeared on TV to describe the investigation that led to the capture of the “Bind, Torture, and Kill” serial murderer.  At this Science Cafe, he will talk about how DNA helps homicide investigators catch criminals.

Since Lt. Landwehr joined the Wichita Police Department in 1978, he has served in Vice Narcotics, Cold Case and Homicide and as a forensic lab supervisor.  He has supervised more than 600 homicide investigations and has taught Death Investigation to law enforcement personnel across Kansas for 21 years.  He is the director of the Mid-States Homicide Investigators Association.
